Annual inspections and proper maintenance are important in order to ensure your safety and to avoid costly and hazardous failures to the brake system. It starts with an inspection. Your AAMCO expert technician will examine the entire braking system brake pads/shoes, hydraulic fluids, rotor/drum wear, calipers and wheel cylinders, brake hardware, brake hoses and lines, brake master cylinder, and the anti-lock system for vehicles so equipped.
Here are some common signs that you should bring in your vehicle for a brake inspection:
- Your vehicle pulls to one side when you apply the brakes.
- The brake pedal sinks to the floor when pressure is maintained.
- You hear or feel a scraping or grinding sensation during braking.
- You hear a high-pitched, piercing metallic sound while the vehicle is in motion.
